Disney reveals Star Wars-themed resort, park expansion

Star Wars The Last Jedi

Going by Disney's explanations, it sounds like the hotel will be designed to continue the interactive experience from the theme park, especially the new Galaxy's Edge area, also revealed at D23.

At D23 Expo 2017, Walt Disney Chairman Bob Chapek showed off an amazingly detailed model of the parks that are currently being built at Disneyland at Disney's Hollywood Studios. From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story!

The announcement was made on Saturday (local time) by Scott Trowbridge, a creative executive with Disney's 'Imagineering' team. The employees or Cast Members will all be in costume and character too.

The eighth chapter in the Star Wars saga will be released in UK cinemas on December 14. "The idea of the imperial perspective is, you never really understand who they are as people, or how the organization works", said Mark Thompson, game director, in the video.

The attracti0onbs are described as follows: "The lands will allow guests to visit a remote trading port on the edge of wild space, where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life - and where guests will find themselves in the middle of the action".

And in 2019, the 'ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs' throws open its bay doors, finally giving fans a chance to step aboard.

At the cantina, a familiar face will play DJ: Rex, the former pilot of the Star Tours ride.

The Disney Star Wars Hotel is a re-imagination of the Hotel New York.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will open earlier in 2019 for Disneyland guests, but will be later in 2019 for Walt Disney World guests.

"It's got to be big".

In the clip, Daisy Ridley (Rey) says: "Ryan has written a story that's unexpected, but right".

"We have ambitious plans for our parks and resorts around the world", said Chapek.
